Saying goodbye to your dog is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do in your life, by far. We love and cherish our pets so much it’s no wonder many dog owners turn to dog memorials for comfort and strength. Whilst there are many options available to pet parents, one of the most popular dog memorials is jewellery that carefully encases a little of your dog’s fur or cremation ashes.
We recently had the honour of creating some stunning keepsake jewellery for Leo’s owner, Adam. Having had to sadly say goodbye their family dog Leo, Adam visited our website and browsed the various cremation ashes jewellery designs before choosing a heart shaped charm bead with a beautiful pink resin colour and also a lovely paw print necklace with paradise blue resin colour. You will find a lovely collection of charm beads, pendants and also cufflinks and earrings on the website for you to choose from.
Once you have chosen your jewellery design, you will then need to choose a resin colour from the 22 we have available. Each of the sterling silver jewellery pieces (except the earrings) can be engraved with your pet’s name and/or a short message or date (room depending). We collaborate with a fantastic and highly experienced local engraver in Swindon who carefully engraves each jewellery piece as requested with a choice of 4 different fonts.
When Adam came to drop off Leo’s precious cremation ashes Lisa had a little chat with him and found out a little bit about Leo, which was lovely. Hearing about his past duties, as Leo was an ex Military Defence Police Dog. Leo was retired at 8 years old and came to live with Adam and his family where he quickly settled into retired life. Adam’s daughter Tegen was very close to Leo, they shared an unbreakable bond with each other as well as their birthdays! Tegen and Leo were born on the same day, how amazing is that!
Adam kindly sent Lisa several gorgeous photos of Leo, which have been shared with you throughout this blog so you can see what a wonderful dog Leo was. Always up for having an outdoor adventure and getting involved in dress up games, Leo certainly was full of life. With his big fluffy coat, he was also brilliant at giving loving cuddles.
As much as we would all love to have our dogs by our sides wagging their tails and cats meowing at us forever, one day, sadly, the day we all wish would never come, does come and we have to say goodbye. Saying our final goodbyes is devastating, but it doesn’t have to mean that you lose your canine companion. There are many dog memorial keepsakes you can create to capture your very special memories so you can hold them close.
Capturing your furbaby’s unique paw prints and framing them with one of our inkless paw print kits is a lovely dog memorial idea. You could then have some stunning sterling silver paw print jewellery created with their unique paw print. This way you will always have a part of your dog with you wherever you go so you never lose them. Dog owners get a lot of comfort from silver paw print jewellery, being able to touch and hold their special jewellery whenever they want to and need to feel connected to their best friend.
You may prefer to have a special piece of jewellery created that carefully encases a little of your pet’s fur or cremation ashes. This is the option that Leo’s owner chose and he was so pleased he did. Adam’s daughter Tegen absolutely loved her very special paw print necklace created with Leo’s ashes, even though she did cry when her dad gave it to her.
Have a look at the photos and you will see why these stunning pieces of jewellery evoke such emotion. Not only are they incredibly beautiful but these special dog memorials hold a little piece of your precious pet so you can keep them with you, close to your heart forever.
