Can you make jewellery out of cremation ashes?

Yes, absolutely.  To create your beautiful memorial jewellery we only need a very small amount of ash, half a teaspoon is usually more than enough.  When you place your order you will be sent a little kit with full instructions to enable you to send us a little of your pet’s precious fur or cremation ashes.  Each piece of bespoke memorial jewellery is carefully created in several layers.

 

Your chosen resin colour will be carefully mixed and a little added to your silver jewellery design.  Then each tiny piece of ash is gently placed onto the resin one at a time with tweezers.  Once everything is carefully in place, this thin layer of resin is cured (set).  This delicate process is carefully repeated until your jewellery design is completed with a layer of beautiful clear resin.

 

Creating pet fur or cremation ashes memorial jewellery is a delicate process and only one piece of special jewellery is created at any one time in a clean environment to ensure each design is given our full attention and care.

Our beautiful collection of jewellery can be created with both pet fur and cremation ashes, whichever you have and would like used.  Jewellery designs can be created with both fur and ashes together if you wish, just let us know when you place your order.  You probably have a lot of pet fur in your house, we certainly do, Sammy and Luna continuously malt everywhere!

 

If your furbaby is no longer with you though, and you would like to keep and treasure some of your pet’s fur, often vets take a clipping of fur for pet parents to keep and cherish and a little bit of this is perfect to create your special jewellery.  Your pet’s fur will be trimmed to fit the jewellery design you have chosen.

 

Just as fur comes in many different colours, you may or may not be aware that cremation ashes can also vary in colour widely from a pale white or cream colour to various shades of light to dark grey.  There are many things that influence the colour of cremation ashes including if your pet was overweight as the amount of adipose tissue can affect the colour of cremation ashes.  However, even though ashes can vary widely in colour and how powdery they are, all colours etc are normal so please don’t worry if you have more than one pet and their ashes are different colours, both are absolutely fine.

 

How to order pet fur and cremation ashes memorial jewellery

Ordering memorial jewellery with your pet’s fur or cremation ashes is very straightforward.  We understand this is a very difficult time for you, so please get in touch if you are unsure of anything and have any questions.  Also feel free to get in touch if you just need a little chat, we are here to help.  You can call, email, contacts us on social media or use our live chat on the website, which ever method of communication feels most comfortable for you.

 

Take a look at the various jewellery designs in the collection online and choose your favourite.  Let us know the personalisation you would like and confirm to us you are the pet parent and you give your consent for your pet’s fur or cremation ashes to be included in your special jewellery.  Next select your resin colour and then select a chain option if you are ordering a pendant.

 

 

You can write us a note in the order notes section at the checkout if you need to give us any other information.  Once we have your order details we will send you a little kit so you can safely return some of your pet’s fur or cremation ashes to us for your jewellery.  You will receive a little pot for you to place a small sample of pet fur or about half a tea spoon of ashes inside, we don’t need very much to create your beautiful keepsake.  Once everything is secure and labelled please post it back to us.

 

We will confirm receipt of your pet’s fur or cremation ashes when they arrive with us and then we will proceed with creating your special jewellery.  Only one piece of jewellery is created at a time in a clean work space to ensure every piece of jewellery receives, the utmost love, care and attention.  Any unused pet fur or cremation ashes will be safely returned to you with your finished jewellery, along with a certificate to confirm your furbaby’s fur or cremation ashes have been included in your beautiful jewellery.

 

How much does it cost to have ashes made into jewellery?

 

Memorial jewellery encasing a little of your pet’s precious fur or cremation ashes can vary in price depending on the materials used to create the jewellery, for example our jewellery is created with sterling silver, which costs more than silver plated jewellery designs.  Some jewellery companies may charge more than others but check out their experience, to ensure they are the best people to be creating your special jewellery.  We spent years learning and perfecting our techniques and designs before we began offering this special jewellery.

 

Our beautiful collection of pet fur and cremation ashes memorial jewellery start at just £85 and this includes all postage charges.  All finished jewellery is posted to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery so it is fully insured and due to arrive with you by 1pm the day after it is posted.

 

 

What colour resin should I choose for my memorial jewellery?

 

We currently have 22 different colours of resin for you to choose from for your very special jewellery.  The best colour to choose will depend on what your colour preferences are in general as well as the colour of the fur or ashes you wish to include in your special jewellery.  Often darker fur or ashes are more visible with lighter resin colours and vice versa but that is not always the case and sometimes pet owners prefer the fur or ashes to be more hidden than visible, it’s personal preference.  If you are unsure on the best colour to choose, please get in touch and we will be happy to help guide you to the best option.

 

 

Can I have my memorial jewellery personalised with my pet’s name?

Yes, our jewellery designs can be personalised with your pet’s name engraved on the back, except for our earring designs as there is not enough room on those.  A lot of other jewellery companies don’t give you the option to have your pet’s name or a special date engraved on your jewellery, but we do as we understand how important it is to pet owners to have their bespoke jewellery personalised.  We collaborate with a local expert engraving centre who do some truly amazing engraving work.  You can choose from 5 different fonts for your engraving as well when you place your order online.

I contacted the company more than once about changing an engraving and how the ashes of my dogs were used. They’re response was quick and nothing seemed to be a problem for them even after I’d changed my mind and asked for things to be changed.
