Random Acts Of Kindness You Can Do With Your Furbaby

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Today 17th February is Random Acts of Kindness Day, a lovely day that really does need highlighting and celebrating.  We have put together a list of pawsome random acts of kindness you can do with your furbaby.  We all need kindness, now more than ever as we continue to strive each day to get our way through this Covid-19 global pandemic that has quite literally rocked and changed the whole world.  Kindness costs nothing or very little but it has a huge positive impact on the person or people who receive your kindness.  Have a look at the list below and see which ones might be possible and try one a week.

Random Acts of Kindness You Can Do With Your Furbaby

  • Offer to take someone’s dog for a walk if they are poorly or in hospital.
  • Donate some pet food to your local animal rescue.  Please check with your local rescue centre how it’s best to donate this food to them.

  • Buy some tennis balls and leave a box of them at your local park or woods with a sign saying dogs can take one and enjoy while at the park then pop back for another dog to enjoy when they play at the park.  This way everyone gets to have fun playing ball games at the park.
  • Donate any old bedding, leads or toys you may not need to your local rescue shelter.  Please check in advance what they need and how you can donate, please don’t just leave it on their doorstep as it may go to waste.
  • Give someone a compliment, like how well behaved their dog is, it will really make their day.
  • Send a letter or card to a friend or family member and stamp your pet’s paw print inside to make them smile (personalised paw print stamps are a great way to do this).
  • Make something for a friend with a cat.  There are lots of things you could make depending on how crafty you are.  One of our lovely customers called Red, send a gift for Sammy and Luna just before Christmas, a beautiful hand sewn cat nip star and crochet blanket.  Sammy and Luna absolutely love both of these and I was so touched that someone had taken the time to create beautiful gifts for Sammy and Luna, it was such a kind thing to do and really made me smile.

  • Paint some rocks with happy,  inspiring or motivating quotes and leave them on your dog walks for other dog walkers to find and smile at.
  • Buy a friend or family member a small gift to cheer them up like an inkless paw print kit so they can capture their own furbaby’s paw print to keep forever.
  • Drop off some cakes or chocolates at your local vets as a pick me up, vets and vet nurses are working so hard to care for pets at the moment under very difficult circumstances. This goes for human Hospitals too, why not drop some off there as well.  If you are not a keen baker, perhaps club together with a a few friends and order some cupcakes from a local cake maker.  This way your random act of kindness is two fold as you are also supporting a small business at the same time.
  • If you know someone is lonely, invite them for a socially distanced dog walk to cheer them up, seeing your dog running and playing will lift their mood for sure.

Happy Max with paw up giving you all a high five for kindness
