How To Take Paw Prints

What animal paw prints can I capture with an inkless paw print kit?

Many pet owners would like to capture their pet’s unique paw prints so they have them to keep as a keepsake forever.  Whilst there are many ways you can do this, some are easier and less messy than others!  Our preferred method for capturing your pet’s unique paw prints is to use an inkless paw print kit, which uses and inkless solution on a wipe and specially coated paper to capture the prints.  Inkless paw print kits are safe to use with animals and we always advise to wipe your pet’s paw with a baby wipe or damp cloth after taking prints just to be extra careful.

Cats and Dogs

As you can imagine, the majority of the Cheeky Little Prints inkless paw print kits we post out to people are for cats and dogs.  Inkless paw print kits can be used with cats and dogs of any age from teeny tiny kittens and puppies all the way up to elderly cats and dogs.  Each kit contains 1 inkless wipe and 1 or 2 sheets of A4 specially coated paper (dependant on the option you choose). An A4 sheet of paper is usually big enough to capture several paw prints, even from large breed dogs but if you need extra paper, please let us know and we can arrange that for you.  You can take as many paw prints onto the special paper as you would like, filling the paper if you wish.  When you upload a photo of your pet’s paw prints to the website we will tidy up any extra furry bits and send you clearer paw prints to keep forever.  Paw print kits come presented in a beautiful presentation folder with a leaflet, full instructions and also a discount code giving you 10% off future orders.

Guinea pigs

You may be surprised to hear that our inkless paw print kits have been used to capture paw prints from several guinea pigs.  The same method is used whatever animal you are capturing paw prints from whether it be from cats, dogs or guinea pigs.  Simply wipe your pet’s paw pads with the inkless wipe and then press their paw pads onto the specially coated paper.  The inkless paw print will appear on the paper and then darken a little over the next few seconds.  A guinea pig named Domino had his paw prints captured just before he passed away and his owner had a beautiful keyring created with his special paw print (pictured below).

Mice and hamsters

Even the tiniest pets like mice and hamsters can have their unique paw prints captured with our inkless paw print kits.  It’s possible to capture lots of teeny mouse and hamster paw prints on the A4 paper.  The wipe can be put back in the packet, sellotaped and then used again later if you’d like to go back and take more paw prints later.  I.e. have a practice and then do some more another day.   A few years ago we created a beautiful small heart charm with a life size mouse paw print, it was super cute (pictured below)!

Squirrel

Yes you read that correctly, our inkless paw print kits have been used to capture paw prints from a squirrel called Thumbellina in New York!  The kit was used in exactly the same way you would use it with a cat, dog or any of the other animals we have mentioned here.  Thumbellina’s paw print was then used to create a personalised paw print stamp so she could sign thank you cards for the kind gifts she was often sent by her fans.

As you can see, our inkless paw print kits can be used with a wide range of pets and at any age.  If you haven’t captured your pet’s unique paw prints yet, order your paw print kit(s) today, there are discounts if ordering multiple kits and you will get a discount code with your kit to get 10% off future orders.  Alternatively why not choose a paw print gift/keepsake to be created as you will automatically be sent an inkless paw print kit when you place an order for personalised paw print stamps, silver paw print jewellery, mugs, water bottles and Christmas decorations etc.
