How To Take Paw Prints

You’ll be surprised by the types of prints we can create silver paw print jewellery from!

Silver Paw Print Jewellery

Most of the silver paw print jewellery we design and make is created from paw prints that are taken with our inkless paw print kits that we post out to pet owners all over the UK as well as internationally.  However, this is not the only way in which we can create silver paw print jewellery for you.

It all happened so fast and I didn’t get around to capturing my pet’s paw print

We all live fast paced lives and we often forget to do things or buy things with the best of intentions and then they get put away in a drawer never to the see the light of day again, or at least for a long time anyway.  Capturing your pet’s unique paw print is often something that gets put off to another day or just forgotten about due to being so busy.  You were meaning to get around to it, but it just hasn’t happened yet.

One day though, it will be too late and you won’t be able to capture your pet’s unique paw prints anymore and then you don’t have the opportunity to keep your pet with you forever with silver paw print jewellery.  We see it all too often, pets become ill very quickly and devastatingly pass away, or we lose pets because of a tragic accident, it’s not always elderly pets we lose.  We experienced this ourselves in 2019 when we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our beautiful tabby cat Tiger who was just 4 and a half years old.  Luckily we had captured her paw print many years before when she was a mischievous kitten and I had been wearing her paw print on my bangle ever since, creating memories together.

A second chance

As I mentioned above paw prints obtained with our inkless paw print kits are not the only prints we can use to create silver paw print jewellery.  Pet owners often get in touch to explain their pet is no longer with them anymore and they would love some silver paw print jewellery but they don’t know how to do it without their pet. In the first instance we will ask you if your vet took a paw print for you.  There are always exceptions, but most vets will take a paw print with an ink pad as a keepsake for owners to keep.  This type of print is perfect for us to work with.  All you need to do is take a photo of the prints and email them to lisa@cheekylittleprints.co.uk or you can upload them to our paw prints page if you have an order number.

Thinking outside the box

In cases where pet owners don’t have any paw prints on paper, there are still other options.  Pet owners often create little keepsakes at home or our pets often leave paw prints in places where they shouldn’t and these sometimes get recorded by photos.  Below is a list of other types of paw prints we have successfully used to create silver paw print jewellery for pet owners who have been left heart broken after losing their precious furbaby.

• A photo of your pet’s actual paw, showing the paw pads (we also use this method if you still have your pet with you but they really dislike their paws being touched)
• A photo of a paw print left in clay
• A photo of a paw print left in playdough
• A photo of a paw print left in fimo clay
• A photo of a paw print left in concrete
• A photo of paw prints left in snow

We have created silver paw print jewellery with all the examples of alternative paw prints above so we know this can be done.

So the next time your furry little rascal leaves muddy paw prints over your kitchen floor, get the camera out and take a photo.  Enjoy and appreciate those muddy paw prints as there will come a day when they won’t be there to leave the muddy paw prints on your freshly cleaned floor :’(

To ensure that you are never in the position of scrabbling around trying to find photos and old keepsakes when the time comes, why not order one of our easy to use paw print kits and have total piece of mind you now have your pet’s unique paw print to keep and treasure forever and we can create a stunning piece of silver paw print jewellery for you now or in the future.

Once you have prints, simply upload them to the website as instructed and then we will tidy up any extra furry bits and send you a clearer paw print to keep and treasure forever.  You can then have your pet’s unique paw print captured in sterling silver jewellery if you wish.  You’ll get a discount code inside your paw print kit so you can get 10% off future orders.

If you have some prints or photos of paw prints at home and you’re unsure if they are clear enough for us to work with, please email a photo of the prints to lisa@cheekylittleprints.co.uk and we will check and confirm for you either way.  It’s rare we can’t work with paw prints.

Any questions, as always, please pick up the phone 0779 2835 639 or send us a message on email/social media.
