Dogs At Weddings, What Do You Think?
Dogs at weddings are becoming increasingly popular. Weddings are one of the happiest occasions you will attend, likely with lots of your family and friends, all smiles and happiness for the special couple. However, there may be a few family members missing from this happy day. What about your pets? Sometimes it is possible to include your pets in your wedding, there are several ways you can do that and we will explore some of those below and how we have helped pet owners involve their cats and dogs at weddings.
Bring your dog with you…
So the first way to include your pets in your wedding would be to actually bring them with you. Now this would normally be limited to the bride and groom’s dog. Having guest’s dogs at weddings as well may be a bit too much to handle but I guess it depends on the dogs, how many there are and the venue, so lots to consider there but I would definitely set boundaries and ground rules and stick to them!
Venues are becoming increasingly dog friendly, which is a great move and makes it easier for couples to include dogs at weddings. Having your dog feature in your wedding photos is such a lovely thing to do, after all, they are a major part of your family.
If you do choose to have your dogs at your wedding, be sure to assign him/her over to a wedding guest who’s sole responsibility is to make sure your furbaby is happy, fed, toileted regularly and not feeling anxious, there will be a lot of people and that could be scary for some dogs. This isn’t an exhaustive list, there will be lots of other things to consider as well so be sure to do your research and if possible speak to couples who have had their dogs at weddings to find out how best to handle it so everyone has the best day ever.
When it’s not possible to have them by your side…
There are many reasons why it may not be possible for you to have your pet by your side as you marry the love of your life. Perhaps you have cats rather than dogs, with the best will in the world, you can’t bring your cats to your wedding, they would be so upset and anxious. Perhaps your dog is poorly, like KT was when Joanne’s brother got married. Maybe you had to say goodbye to your furbaby before you got married so they are not able to be there by your side.
Keep a part of your pet with you on your wedding day…
In the cases where it’s just not possible to have dogs at weddings, physically by your side, a great alternative is to wear some stunning sterling silver jewellery showcasing your furbaby’s unique paw print. This is something Cheeky Little Prints are ideally positioned to help you with as we have been creating stunning sterling silver jewellery since April 2009. Lisa has vast experience in this field and is there to help you every step of the way.
Capturing your pet’s unique paw prints is nice and easy with our inkless paw print kits and being inkless means there is no mess 🙂 Each kit comes in a beautiful presentation folder, with everything you need to capture great paw prints, making them an ideal gift for family and friends. Full instructions with lots of tips are included and we are only a phone call away if you need some help.
A stunning range of jewellery designs are available and you can view them all in the paw print jewellery section of the website. Everything we create is bespoke and being independent means we can create a design just for you, so if you’d like something but you can’t find it on our website, just get in touch and we will do our best to create the jewellery you are looking for.
A small paw print charm on a bracelet or dainty chain for the bride would work well, or we have regular and large charms as well. For the groom, our recommendation would definitely be a stunning pair of silver cufflinks showcasing his pet’s unique paw prints. You can even have your jewellery personalised with the date of your wedding. So you see, it’s now even easier than ever to include dogs at weddings.
Joanne, desperately wanted to include their family dog KT in her brother’s wedding but KT was too poorly to attend and time was running out, the wedding was just weeks away. Joanne got in touch with us and we organised a stunning silver circle charm with KT’s unique paw print that Joanne gave to her brother on his wedding day to keep with him. He was so over the moon with his special keepsake, it almost brought a tear to his eye, which doesn’t happen very often. You can read KT’s story here.
Sandra wanted to involve her cat Cosmic Creepers in her wedding day so got in touch and we created a special heart shaped necklace with Cosmic Creepers’ unique paw print that Sandra wore with pride and joy as she walked down the aisle on her wedding day. Sandra now has this special necklace to keep, cherish and wear every day to remind her. Another lovely example of involving cats and dogs at weddings.
Pawtastic thank you cards…
Another amazing way to include your pet in your wedding celebration is to add their unique paw print to your thank you cards. Most couples have quite a lot of thank you cards to write out so attempting to get your pet to produce their paw and make a paw print in each individual card with say an ink pad or paint, is likely to be problematic in more ways that one! Our personalised paw print stamps are the answer to your prayers.
You can now sign thank you cards, birthday cards, Christmas cards, well any kind of cards and letters with your pet’s actual unique paw print – how cool is that!? All you need to do is place your order on our website, we will send you an easy to use inkles paw print kit (like we mentioned above). Once you have your pet’s unique paw prints, simply upload a photo of them to our website as per the instructions, we will tidy up any extra furry bits and send you a proof to approve and then create your special stamp.
Martin and Alison wanted to include their furbaby Sasha’s paw print in the thank you cards they sent guests after their special day. Sasha was also a very lucky girl and got to share Martin and Alison’s big day with them which was so special, you can see a few photos below.
